Thoroughbred - Large - Young - Female - Horse - Lucky
Description
Found at a trail head in Skagit County by people out for a trail ride, Lucky and a gelding were taken in by the county who then asked PHH to step in. Lucky, a chestnut Thoroughbred, had been shot in the head above her right eye. The county had the bullet removed and surprisingly she still has vision in the eye though severed tendons in her eyelid have left her with a drooping lid. Lucky seems to be a very calm and sweet horse, though further evaluation is pending. Update 2/15/09: Lucky is pregnant! We had not checked her since she came in with a gelding. The vet expects her to foal in the next 30 days. Lucky will not be available for adoption until after her foal is weaned. Update 3/21/09: Its a girl! She is a big Appaloosa with a lot of spunk. Update 6/29/09: Lucky and Charm attended Celebrate the Horse and the pair was a HIT! For her public debut Charm was very well behaved even with all of the commotion of such a large event. Update 7/22/09: Lucky went into training with Meghan Valenti the first of this month. She does have a lip tattoo and her records show that she was raced once but Meghan is starting at square one with her training. Lucky is a nice mover and is a wonderful Dressage prospect.
