Cocker Spaniel - Small - Adult - Female - Dog - Dixie
Sweet Dixie Girl is precious in all ways - adorable, affectionate and quite the little/petite lady! She loves people and other dogs (would do best in a home with another dog or dogs), enjoys her walks and romps on the beach, does great in a car and loves to be near her people at all times. We are searching for Dixie's perfect new person/family who will adore her and get a kick out of her sweet and loving spirit. Dixie was rescued almost a year ago and has spent the past 12 months in our rescue "getting her groove back." Dixie and her sister, Ms. Dolly, were rescued in terrible condition and after much TLC, medical care and devotion, Dixie Girl is ready to live with her forever people. Thankfully, her sister, Dolly, was just adopted by the most wonderful family. Dixie is about 6-7 years old. She's healthy, up-to-date on her shots and almost 100% reliable in the house. Dixie has been receiving medical care for a skin condition from an area doggie dermatologist, and her new family will need to commit to continuing her skin care which includes 2 doctor visits a year, a weekly bath and contributing toward her on-going meds which average $35 month. We can provide more information on Dixie's skin condition which is now fully healed but needs continuing maintenance to stay this way (skin condition a remnant of her abuse/neglect). If you would love to be Dixie's person/people for life and are taken with her courage and sweet nature, we'd love to set up a meet 'n greet! A home with another doggie pal and a person or family around alot would be absolutely perfect for Ms. Dixie! Please call Vashon Island Pet Protectors at 206 567 5222 or email dogs@vipp.org. A $150 donation to VIPP, adoption application and home visit are requested.
